Rhonda trained as a High School Music Teacher at the Melbourne University Conservatorium, majoring in Voice and Piano. She has taught in Secondary Schools in Victoria and worked as a Primary School Music Specialist in Queensland from 1977 to 1997 after undertaking further study on the Kodaly teaching method with Katalin Forrai and acquiring an extra Diploma from the Queensland University of Technology.
Rhonda is assisted by her husband Jim Coady. Having studied at the Melbourne University Conservatorium, Jim began his professional singing career in Hobart, with noted conductor Walter Stiasny. This followed success in various competitions – notably Victoria’s ‘Sun’ Aria and the ABC Vocal and Concerto. He was a soloist with the Elizabethan Theatre Trust Opera Company – now Opera Australia – touring much of Australia. In Queensland her has taken leading roles in numerous operas and musical. Jim joined the Lyric Opera of Queensland for the inaugural 1985 season and has appeared in almost every production since. Over the years her has been in great demand as a soloist for oratorios, concerts and cabaret evenings.
Rhonda and Jim have had their own vocal coaching studio since 1997.
