Over the last 30 years Karen has built a reputation for producing high quality performers and her success in competitive endeavors.

Karen completed her final Advanced RAD 1978, having trained with was with some wonderful of the countries most respected teachers Mrs Elsie Segus, Mrs Hunter, Mrs Pat Mc Donald (Gold Coast course), Miss Shirley Treacy and Ramsey School of Dance (Sydney- Two Weeks Full Time). She gained her full teachers qualifications in 1985 and was made a life member of the academy in 2017 for her commitment to dance.

Karen commenced teaching for her sister Mrs Pamela Lennon, from 1975 to 1988, before starting her own school in a small hall in Lawnton with sixty students and holding her first concert in the Aspley State High School hall.

In 1989 Karen opened a studio at Brendale in Moonbi street where she stayed for three years before moving to 124 Southpine Road where the main studio is presently located. Karen’s first six years and under Eisteddfod group in 1989 gained a first place in the Brisbane Eisteddfod. Karen’s students have consistently placed and gained awards at eisteddfods and competitions since. Many of Karen’s past students have gone on to perform professionally including with the Queensland and New Zealand Ballet and with cruise lines.
